If Walls Could Talk

These paintings reflect on a visit to Kilmainham Goal in Dublin, Ireland during my residency at Ballinglen Art Foundation. Covered with messages from past inmates – some martyrs of the Irish Republican Brotherhood and others just Dublin’s poor – the thick walls of the jail seemed to whisper the secrets of the past and present. (Oil paintings on collaged newsprint, 40 x 30 inches and 24 x 20 inches, 2022.)
